The rules follow Germán Coloma, “Argentine Spanish”, Journal of the International Phonetic Association, Illustrations of the IPA. Its word tables and its narrow transcription of “The North Wind and the Sun” are the test fixtures. Each rule card says whether its rule was checked in that primary source (verified), taken from a secondary summary (secondary), or comes from general Spanish phonetics without Buenos Aires data (unverified).

General Spanish transcribers mark stress before the vowel and stress every monosyllable. Some also write Castilian [θ] and [ʎ]. Here, stress goes before the syllable, as in IPA practice and in Coloma, and there is no [θ] or [ʎ].
